What I really love in Saudi Arabia is the endless selection of sweet foods. From cakes to chocolates, you would see so many sweet shops around Al Khobar and all over the Kingdom. As a sweet lover since birth, hahaha, it's really hard for me to ignore these shops since they've been also the place where I grab my comfort food every time I feel alone and lonely here in the sandbox. As an expat, I also tend to buy boxes of chocolates whenever it's time to have my annual vacation because my family and friends loves imported chocolates as I do. I would gladly choose the best chocolates in town for my loved ones, and you know, I want nothing but the best for them. Aside from chocolates, I have an addiction with cakes. I used to order customized cakes for me and my friends especially when there's an occasion like birthday party. Most of the time, cake is the main thing in a party so it's a big deal to have a fabulous customized cake as per your desire. That's the good thing about cakes, you can order it and request more details to make it personalized as you preferred.
There is a place I know in Al Khobar that sells chocolates and cakes, in one shop! Not only that, they are also offering pastries, bouquet of flowers and a lot more! The SWEET HEART - A PIECE OF ART have a wide selection of chocolates all the way from Belgium. These chocolates are all packed in a glamourous way. I believe that they were especially made for special occasions like birthdays, engagements, weddings, baby shower and more. Name it and for sure, they have it!
The Sweet Heart is located at Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Road (Pepsi Street), Al Salmen Boulevard, Al Khobar. The shop is open from 9:30am-11:30am / 4:00pm-10:30pm during weekdays and 4:00pm-10:30pm every Friday.
The whole set up of the shop really amazed me. The placement of each product were aesthetically arranged which gives a very pleasing sight to the eyes of anyone who will enter the shop. Truly, Sweet Heart is such a piece of Art!
As I look around the shop, I have seen so many beautiful cakes. They have different kinds of cake such as 3D cake which you can order as per your preference that will suit your occasion such as wedding, graduation and of course, birthday party. They have also the normal cake including their best seller - Pistachio cake! Actually, you can choose from 19 cake flavors which are available anytime. Can't wait to visit you again, Sweet Heart! :)
I've tasted as well some of the pastries in their shop. Oh boy, I think they have the best of the best products in town! Like cakes and chocolates, they have plenty of pastries and cookies to choose from but my favorite are the bite-sized pastries. Mind you, this shop is offering some gluten-free products. In fact, the first shop in Saudi Arabia that serves gluten-free goodies. Gluten is actually a general name for the proteins found in wheat, rye, barley and triticale. Gluten helps foods maintain their shape, acting as a glue that holds food together. Some people do have allergies in gluten and others have celiac disease (serious autoimmune disorder that can occur in genetically predisposed people where the ingestion of gluten leads to damage in the small intestine) in which gluten intolerance occur.
To be honest, this shop is so heavenly! The idea of having cakes, chocolates and pastries in one shop is genius. Very convenient, isn't it? If you are throwing a party, SWEET HEART is the best place to be! With the touch of art in all of their products, SWEET HEART has the edge to attract most of the consumers. I'm not gonna lie, indeed, I've found the sweetest place here in Al Khobar.
