Holidays are really over and I'm still wishing for more. Haha. If you are living or working in a muslim country, you have the privilege to experience the two most important islamic holidays each year: Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. These two are being celebrated worldwide, even in the Philippines. Here in Saudi Arabia, we are lucky to have a 6 or 9 days off or even more. So prior to this non-working holiday, people used to plan their activities inside or outside the kingdom to utilize well this vacation. For me and some of my friends, we chose to cross the bridge going to the nearby kingdom and have a great time. Bahrain is an open country so a lot of people loves to visit the kingdom every now and then to do what they cannot do in Saudi Arabia.
One of the things I love to do in Bahrain is watching movies. I guess every mall in BH has cinemas where you can watch the latest local, bollywood and hollywood movies. But you know what, Bahrain is such a place of beauty where you can find so many instagram-worthy spots to share in your social media accounts. Well. here's my 6 favorite picturesques spots in Bahrain that you shouldn't miss.
1. WORLD TRADE CENTER
Never miss to have a souvenir photo at Bahrain's World Trade Center. It's a 240-metre-high, 50-floor, twin tower complex located in Manama, Bahrain. You would have a breathtaking photos with this skyscraper if you take the shots far enough the gigantic building especially if you are using a prime lens. But your iPhone is good enough to produce such amazing photos, 100% sure!
2. MARASSI BEACH
Marassi Beach is an outdoor lifestyle destination which has a 2 km of white sandy beach. Aside from interesting water activities and colorful food trucks in the area which offers international and local flavours from independent businesses, it is a perfect place to have your summer-themed photos with a beautiful beach background.
3. AL FATEH GRAND MOSQUE
Being one of the largest mosques in the world, Al Fateh Grand Mosque is certainly a place to visit when you are in Bahrain to tick your bucket list of great landscape photos. The beautiful mosque is as sacred as other mosques you would find in other places, same as in other holy places no matter what the religion is, so we should keep in mind to pay respect and follow every rule they implemented when you visit them. But I tell you, you won't regret the chance to pose anywhere the premises of the gorgeous grand mosque. Worth it!
4. WAHOOO WATER PARK
If you want an adventure photos with splashes of water, Wahoo Water Park is the place for you! Located inside City Centre Mall, Manama, you don't have to worry about sunburn because the water park is indoor although there are some slides and activities which are outdoor. But with its colorful and lively ambiance, for sure you would produce great awesome photos with your family and friends.
5. CITY CENTER BAHRAIN
If you are wondering why a mall is on my list, well, please don't get me wrong because this one is for peeps out there who loves #foodtography. Lotsa nice restaurants are situated inside the City Center Bahrain. Actually, the whole country has so many different cuisines to offer but superb food presentation is a requirement. We had selected PF Chang's among hundred of eateries inside the mall. Can't wait to post in my ig the photos of foods I took! :)
Or if you want to try other restaurants even located outside the mall, sure they have great food presentation as well!
6. BAB AL BAHRAIN
Last but not the least is the historical building located in the Customs Square in Manama's former central business district called Bab Al Bahrain. If you want to go to Manama Souq to shop for goodies like nuts, spices or electronic goods, bargain T-shirts and even golds & perfumes, you have to pass by Bab Al Bahrain as it marks the entrance to the souq. There you would find the iconic "I Love BH" sculpture and you shouldn't miss it.
